The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russian foreign ministers Sergei Lavrov and Venezuelan Ivan Khel agreed to strengthen political dialogue and trade ties between the two countries.
The Russian foreign ministry said in a statement following the meeting of the two ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, broadcast by the Russia Today satellite channel on Thursday, that they confirmed the dynamic development of bilateral relations within the framework of strategic partnership and agreed on steps to strengthen them from all sides, focusing on deepening political dialogue, intensifying trade and investment relations, technical process, expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges and developing the legal base and agreements”.
Lavrov expressed support for”Venezuela’s efforts aimed at ensuring the stability of the internal political situation and moving forward on the path of stable economic and social development”.
The Russian Foreign Minister welcomed Venezuela’s role in regional affairs and”contribution to the intensification of integration processes on the continent and assistance to the rapprochement of Latin America and the Eurasian Economic Union”.
