Natural gas production in Brazil fell last August, after setting consecutive records in the previous two months, according to preliminary data released by the oil and Gas Regulatory Authority ANP.
The total production amounted to 147.9 million cubic meters per day of gas in August, a decrease of 4% from the previous month and an increase of 5.6% from the same month of 2022-as quoted by the agency “Argus Media”.
Gas re-injection operations – when gas is pumped back into wells to enhance oil recovery or avoid burning-amounted to 75.8 million cubic meters per day, down 5.5% from July and up 8.9% from a year earlier.
Gas consumption on production platforms set a new record of 16.1 million cubic meters per day, up by 0.8% from the previous month and by 11% from August 2022.
