The data of the central agency for public mobilization and statistics showed the development of the value of remittances of Egyptians working in the BRICS countries during the fiscal year 2021/2022, where the total value reached about 84.7 million dollars, while it was about 41.8 million dollars during the fiscal year 2020/2021, an increase of about 42.9 million dollars, with an increase of 102.5%.
In contrast, remittances of workers from the BRICS countries in Egypt amounted to about 49.7 million dollars during the fiscal year 2021/2022, compared to 54.5 million dollars during the fiscal year 2020/2021 with a decrease of 8.7%, the agency’s data said.
The data showed that Brazil came at the top of the list of the highest BRICS countries in the remittances of Egyptians working there during the fiscal year 2021/2022, with a value of 42.4 million dollars, Russia came in second place with 16.4 million dollars, then China 13.2 million dollars, then South Africa 6.7 million dollars, and finally India 6 million dollars.
