Data showed, that South Korea’s exports of cars to the United States exceeded one million units during the period from January to November this year, already surpassing the previous annual record set by it 8 years ago.
The data released by the Korean automobile and mobility Association – as reported by the South Korean news agency“Yonhap” – showed that during the first 11 months of this year, exports of South Korean cars to the United States reached 1,172,612 units.

The annual number is expected to grow when December exports are counted. The figure for the first 11 months of this year is already larger than the previous annual record of 1,066,164 units in 2015.
Car exports to the United States peaked in 2015, but later fell to a low of about 800 thousand units in 2021 amid the corona pandemic and US protectionist trade policies introduced during the Donald Trump administration.
