Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro expressed his hope for his country to become a full member of the BRICS group at the next summit in 2024. Maduro stated, “Venezuela was accepted as a partner at the summit held in South Africa, and I hope it joins BRICS PLUS as a permanent member at the next summit in Russia,” as reported by the Russian news agency TASS.
Maduro stated that “BRICS is the future of humanity,” highlighting the economic opportunities of the group and the possibilities of the new BRICS Development Bank.
