Edge, a leading global group in advanced technology and defense, announced that it will be conducting a six-month experiment on a major public security initiative with the government of the state of Sao Paulo.
This partnership was announced during a visit by a high-level delegation of senior government members to the headquarters of Edge Group in Abu Dhabi.
During an initial six-month phase to verify the plan and facilitate adjustments, “Proof of Concept” will have three strategic objectives focusing on data structuring from different systems, analysis and integration of various solutions, and establishing efficient and rapid response to public security using the latest technologies.
According to smart monitoring, the project called “Crystal Ball” will prioritize monitoring and assistance in the central areas of Sao Paulo city by deploying advanced technologies such as smart CCTV solutions, integrated driving and control, communications, advanced surveillance and reconnaissance, smart drones, artificial intelligence, airborne mobile data intelligence, and “Digital Overwatch” solution provided by Beacon Red company.
The objective of the program is to enhance visibility regarding crime statistics, identify hotspots, track criminal activity, support victims, and evaluate impact on businesses, along with relevant measures.
Through harnessing this data, the government will work on establishing a strong analytical capability that enables informed decision-making in law enforcement, improves resource allocation, enhances public safety, and ultimately reduces crime rates.
According to Mansour Al Mullah, CEO and Executive Director of Edge Group, “Undoubtedly, we are witnessing tangible results from the valuable partnerships we have established with the Sao Paulo state government in the strategically important Brazilian market. By exploring current areas of cooperation and leveraging the diverse capabilities within Edge Group’s ecosystem, we have been able to identify ways for Edge to provide concrete solutions to the challenges faced by our partners, not only in a military context but also to expand our offerings to include crime monitoring services in major cities like Sao Paulo.”
Similarly, Filisio Ramoth, Deputy Governor of Sao Paulo, said, “We welcome Edge Group’s collaboration with the government of Sao Paulo on this major public security initiative. This partnership represents a significant step towards enhancing security, technology, and data-driven decision making in our state. We are optimistic about the potential positive impact of this initiative on our region, creating a safer and more prosperous environment for our citizens, businesses, and communities.”
At the end of the experiment, a detailed roadmap will be established to expand these capabilities to cover all areas of Sao Paulo. The “Proof of Concept” project relies on successful and proven solutions created by the “Beacon Red” company, a subsidiary of the Edge Group, which includes the development of “Excellence Centers and Integration Centers” currently being deployed in various vital infrastructure and security institutions in the UAE.
The delegation from Sao Paulo, led by Deputy Governor Filisio Ramuth, Minister of International Affairs Lucas Verez, International Advisor for General Security Alexander Nibomosino and Anderson Varejes, Mayor of Sao Jose Dos Campos, held a series of meetings with the management of Edge Group and several key stakeholders in Abu Dhabi. The aim of these meetings was to facilitate potential strategic partnerships and enhance cooperation with Sao Paulo state and the wider region.
This meeting comes after a successful visit by “Edge” to Sao Paulo in September 2023 and another visit by Minister Veras to “Edge”‘s headquarters in December 2023. This recent collaboration represents another important step in “Edge”‘s vision to enhance partnerships with the state of Sao Paulo and other major partners in Brazil.
