The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, revealed that he launched a negotiation with countries of the European Union (EU) to outline investments in technological minerals, rare earths, and lithium.
“We have opened negotiating tables with some EU countries to talk about investments, where we are sure that not only lithium but other minerals such as strategic and rare earths will be included,” Arce said.
The first authority of Bolivia reported that on the trip to Brussels, Belgium, for the Summit of the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the president noted the interest of different countries in lithium, strategic minerals, and rare earths that Bolivia possesses.
“It was explained to the interested parties that Bolivia has already entered into work on these strategic resources and rare earths, which aroused interest in several countries because they are fundamental raw materials for the technological field in the world,” he added.
“Bolivia is an important source of strategic minerals and rare earths to guarantee this raw material to the world oriented to technological development,” he said.
“The eyes of the world are on Latin America and Bolivia because of the riches we have from strategic minerals and metals,” he noted.
The Government of Bolivia repeatedly reaffirmed that one of the main management challenges within the mining sector is activating the process of exploration and exploitation of technological mineral resources and rare earths.
