About 75,000 employees of a health insurance company went on strike, saying that the lack of staff harms patient care. Workers have left their jobs in several states, at the beginning of a major strike of healthcare workers.
According to Al-Hurra, Wednesday’s strike comes in a year that has seen workers strike in various sectors such as entertainment, hospitality and the automotive industry.
The strikers include licensed professional nurses, home health assistants, sonographers, as well as technicians.
Doctors are not participating in the strike, while union members are seeking to increase wages and increase the number of employees.
