An Argentine delegation is traveling to the United States to meet with officials from the International Monetary Fund to negotiate terms for easing the agreement between the two countries, a source in the Argentine Ministry of Economy said.
“Yes, the Argentine delegation is traveling to the United States,” the source told Reuters.
Argentina, Latin America’s third-largest economy, is looking to adjust requirements imposed by the International Monetary Fund as part of a $44 billion loan.
Argentina is facing an economic crisis, and inflation is expected to reach 142% this year amid dwindling foreign exchange reserves at the Central Bank of Argentina.
