This week, President Javier Milei finally had his anticipated meeting with Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. The meeting took place at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The president informed Georgieva about his political choice to implement a strict economic plan aimed at eliminating the fiscal deficit and combatting inflation at its source.
He additionally expressed gratitude towards the managing director for her willingness to finalize the agreement with Argentina, as he explained his plan for making the government smaller, decreasing inflation, and increasing the country’s gross domestic product.
The leader of La Libertad Avanza believes that his economic plan is adequate to achieve the predetermined goals set by the IMF for Argentina’s fiscal deficit, money supply, and Central Bank reserves.
Georgieva has recently expressed admiration for Milei and his economic team, commending the rapid progress made by his government and Caputo’s assistants in swiftly reaching a staff-level agreement.
