Brazilian environment minister Marina Silva on Wednesday at the UN climate change conference called on developed countries to take the lead in the energy transition and provide “the necessary means” to developing countries.
“Developed countries must take the lead in the gradual transition towards abandoning fossil fuels, and ensure the provision of the necessary means to developing countries,” said Minister Silva, after the Dubai conference approved a historic agreement calling for a “transition” towards gradually abandoning coal, oil and gas.
