Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer announced the construction of a new plant near Sao Paulo, to produce flying electric taxis, which it hopes will take to the skies starting in 2026.
The flying taxi, to be manufactured by its affiliate, Eve, will resemble a small helicopter of up to six passengers.
The trip is expected to cost $50 to $100 (Pound39 to Pound78) per person.
Eve hopes to manufacture a prototype this year and says it has already received purchase orders for approximately 3,000 air taxis.
The US regulator had recently issued a timetable for air taxis there, to operate as early as 2025.
