On Monday, February 5th, both Brazilian company Embraer and Saudi company Saudia Technic signed a memorandum of understanding in the Saudi capital Riyadh, with the aim of providing maintenance and training services by the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer for both commercial aviation with a focus on the E2 aircraft fleet and executive aviation.
This memorandum of understanding was signed during the ongoing World Defense Exhibition, which is held from February 4th to February 8th in Riyadh.
In a statement released by Embraer, Carlos Novais, President and CEO of Embraer Services and Support, confirmed that Saudi Arabia has one of the fastest-growing aerospace industries in the world, and that Embraer Services and Support is excellently positioned to make progress in the region. Saudia Technic is the maintenance company for the largest airline in the country, Saudi Arabia.
Fahad Sandi, CEO of Saudia Technic, points out that the aerospace industry in the country is flourishing, and “we are ready to take distinct and noticeable steps with Embraer.”
As the signing of the memorandum of understanding took place, both the regional sales manager for Embraer Services and Support, Rida Amara, and the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, were in attendance.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Duailej was accompanied by a delegation from GACA who had visited Rio de Janeiro, where they participated in an event organized by the Saudi Arabian National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
On the other hand, Embraer is participating in the exhibition in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, where they are showcasing two types of aircraft: the C-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft and the A-29 Super Tucano light attack and advanced training aircraft.
