Petrobras, the Brazilian state-run energy company, is holding talks with Gulf, Indian, and Chinese oil companies to collaborate on energy projects.
According to Jean Paul Prates, the CEO of Petrobras, the company aims to enhance the efficiency of Brazilian refineries, undertake modernization initiatives, and explore projects in the petrochemicals, fertilizers, and energy transformation sectors.
Additionally, Petrobras is also interested in partnering with Qatar on liquefied natural gas projects, potentially in West Africa or Brazil.
Prates stated that expanding their expertise and transferring it to Brazil or Latin America is a priority for Petrobras.
He highlighted the Atlantic Ocean region as their preferred working environment, focusing on areas such as West Africa, Brazil, and Guyana.
In further remarks at the Indian Energy Week event in Goa, Prates mentioned ongoing discussions with other state-owned oil companies in China, India, and the Middle East, including Kuwait Petroleum and Qatar Energy, for potential cooperation on energy projects.
Additionally, Petrobras expressed interest in collaborating with their neighbor, Venezuela.
Prates emphasized that they have two major groups of Asian countries with whom they engage extensively and build relationships – the Gulf countries, India, and China.
These discussions and potential collaborations with Gulf, Indian, and Chinese oil companies demonstrate Petrobras’ continued commitment to expanding its energy projects and partnerships on a global scale.
