Brazil Consumer Price Index, Latin America’s largest economy, rose 0.28% in the first half of August, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
Brazilian inflation advanced at a rate of 4.24% compared to the first half of August 2022, according to “IBGE.”
“Seven of the nine product and service groups surveyed were registered in August,” IBGE said in a statement.
“In housing (1.08%), the greatest impact came from the increase in residential electricity (4.59%), influenced by the end of the incorporation of the Itaipu Bond, credited on invoices issued in the previous month,” IBGE added.
Food prices in Brazil fell 0.65% in August after declining 0.40% the previous month. Clothing prices dipped 0.03% in August after rising 0.04% the previous month.
