The commercial exchange between Chile and Russia grew by 37% in the first six months of 2023 compared to the same period last year, the president of the National Committee for Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries (CN Cepla), Tatiana Mashkova, said.
“In the first half of 2023, compared to the first six months of 2022, [Russian-Chilean] trade grew by 37% and reached about 400 million dollars,” Mashkova said at the end of the conference “Russia-Chile: before the 1973 coup, after, and at the beginning of the 21st century.”
“Russian exports to Chile decreased 2.5 times, while imports increased by 46%,” she added.
“Now we still deliver to Chile complex fertilizers, derivatives of hydrocarbons, flour, and Chileans as usual supply us with wine, seafood, dried fruits, and fresh fruit,’ Mashkova told Sputnik.
“Last year, the commercial exchange between the two countries decreased significantly—by 20%—to about 700 million dollars, compared to 2021,” Mashkova said.
