The Central Bank of Chile said that the country’s copper exports reached 3.96 billion dollars in November, an increase of 3.8% over the previous year.
She added that the country recorded a trade surplus of 1.29 billion dollars per month, which is more than the 1.16 billion dollars predicted by economists.
Last month, the country’s statistics agency “INE” said that copper production in Chile, which is the largest producer of the metal in the world, decreased by 4.4% year-on-year last October, as the volume of copper production in the country reached 464,311 metric tons.
As the world’s second-largest producer of the red metal, Peru’s production of the metal, which is heavily used in renewable energy industries, grew by 3.14% in October, thanks to the extraction of copper, gold and zinc, representing the slowest growth in the past eight months.
