Elon Musk revealed that the first Cybertruck trucks are on their way to stores in North America, ahead of the official launch of the vehicle next week, and the first Cybertruck will be presented to customers on November 30 at a special event broadcast live at Tesla’s Gigafactory headquarters in Austin, Texas.
In a post on the X website (formerly known as Twitter), Musk said: “e-trucks are on their way to Tesla stores in North America!”
When the non-traditional shaped car was unveiled in 2019, Tesla promised that deliveries would begin in 2021, but production was hit by delays that Musk says are related to the price of batteries, and this month, the Cybertruck was shown to the public outside places such as Lincoln Center in New York.
Musk revealed on Tesla’s earnings call that full-scale mass production of the car will not begin until 2024, “we are at the last stage of Cybertruck,”Musk said at a conference in October with analysts.
It is believed that up to 1.5 million buyers have already paid 100 dollars to book The Cybertruck, which is one of the most anticipated electric car launches ever.
It is not clear when these buyers will receive their cars, the show models are heading to stores, the car is an all-electric truck with an angular body and is expected to cost 50 thousand dollars.
Musk said the company aims to produce a quarter of a million trucks a year by 2025, but added that the unique design of the vehicle means the company faces challenges in expanding production.
