The aviation giant company, Airbus, recorded a decrease of 11 percent in its net profits, amounting to 3.8 billion euros (4.1 billion dollars) in the year 2023, due to charges related to its past aerospace operations.
Despite supply chain issues, the group managed to deliver 735 aircraft last year, and plans to deliver approximately 800 aircraft in 2024, which is the same number it achieved in 2018 before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Airbus’ statement.
Despite the challenges associated with the aerospace industry, Airbus announced that their profit numbers are the third largest they have ever achieved, with a significant profit of 4.2 billion euros in 2022.
On his part, the CEO of Airbus, Guillaume Faury, stated, “In 2023, we have achieved strong orders across all our businesses and we have fulfilled our commitments. This was a significant accomplishment considering the complexity of the operating environment.”
The group stated that it has received orders to purchase 2094 aircraft in the year 2023, surpassing the previous historical number that dates back to 2013.
