Elon Musk’s poor choice of words in public is likely to cause the company to lose millions, as major brands such as Apple, Disney, libm and Comcast, among others, have temporarily stopped advertising – the company’s main revenue, but the company seems to have a plan to survive this problem.
According to a report by the Financial Times, Company X is intensifying a new advertising strategy, and with major brands moving away from the platform, the company is looking to turn to small and medium-sized advertisers to generate some revenue.
A company spokesman was quoted as saying:” SMEs are a very important engine, and we have certainly underestimated its importance for a long time, “the spokesman added that attracting small and medium brands has” always been part of the plan ” and the company will now go further.
Why did the big brands run away from the catwalk
Things started to go wrong when a report by the Liberal monitoring group Media Matters stated that many ads appeared next to anti-Semitic publications.
It got even worse when Musk commented, ” the actual truth, “on a post that claimed Jewish people have a” polemical hatred ” for white people, and then reports claimed that major brands temporarily stopped advertising on the platform.
When asked about this during his interview at The New York Times DealBook Summit earlier this week, Musk said that brands “blackmailed” him and hurled abuse at them for doing so.
“If someone is going to try to blackmail me with ads?” He’s blackmailing me with money “Go to hell,” he said, and then Musk added: “Hi Bob, if you’re in the audience,” referring to Disney CEO Bob Iger, who earlier in the day explained why the company was pulling ads from the platform.
“By taking the position he took in a completely public way, we felt that being associated with this position, Elon Musk and X was not necessarily a positive thing for us, and we decided to withdraw our advertising,” Iger said, referring to Musk’s participation.
