On the first day of the Dubai Airshow 2023, Emirates has placed an order for an additional 95 wide-body aircraft, bringing its total orders to 295 aircraft.
In a statement on Monday, the company confirmed its commitment to purchase additional Boeing 777-9, 777-8 and 787 aircraft worth an additional USD 52 billion (equivalent to AED 191 billion) to support its growth plans.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and the group, said that the new orders enable the group to connect more cities to Dubai, which supports Dubai’s D33 economic agenda, which includes adding 400 cities to Dubai’s Foreign Trade Map over the next decade.
The CEO of Emirates pointed out that by the beginning of the Thirties, the Emirates fleet is expected to include about 350 aircraft, to connect Dubai with more World Cities.
