Emirates Airlines and the Brazilian carrier Azul have announced the expansion of their partnership, offering loyalty reward programs to their customers.
Now, members of the Emirates Skywards and TudoAzul frequent flyer programs can earn and redeem miles through a shared network that covers over 290 destinations worldwide.
In 2021, the two carriers entered into a code-sharing partnership agreement to provide customers with enhanced connectivity between eight cities in Brazil and the global Emirates airline network via Sao Paulo.
Dr. Najib bin Khader, Deputy Chairman of First Skywards, Emirates Airlines, said: “We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Azul, the largest carrier in Brazil, and provide Skywards members with the opportunity to earn more miles while traveling to explore hundreds of cities across Brazil and South America.
Azul program members can also earn and redeem miles when traveling to and from over 130 destinations through the Emirates global airline network. We look forward to the start of a fruitful partnership and offering great benefits to our program members.”
Christina Yoshihida, Director of Loyalty and Ancillary Revenue at Azul, said, “Our partnership with Emirates, known worldwide for its excellence in products and services, represents a significant accomplishment in our mission to provide unforgettable experiences for our customers.
We are actively expanding Azul’s destinations and enhancing our commitment to our loyalty program, which offers the best options for our members.”
Members of Emirates Skywards, under the agreement, can earn miles when traveling through the Azul network, which covers over 150 destinations. Program members can earn up to one Skywards mile for every mile flown in economy class, and up to 1.5 Skywards miles for every mile flown in business class.
Members can also redeem their miles for economy class flights on emirates.com (starting from 8,000 miles for a one-way reward ticket) and business class (starting from 17,500 miles for a one-way reward ticket).
Partnership also allows members of the “TudoAzul” program to earn miles when traveling through the Emirates global airline network, which covers more than 140 destinations across all six continents, and to enjoy reward flights in both economy and business class with Emirates.
Emirates currently operates a daily service with an A380 aircraft to Sao Paulo, and a daily service with a Boeing 777-300ER between Dubai and Rio de Janeiro, as well as between the latter and the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
The partnership agreement between Emirates Airlines and Azul allows customers to travel from/to Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Cuiabá, and Curitiba (Cordoba), Goiânia, Porto Alegre, Recife, using Emirates Airlines flights from/to São Paulo to Dubai and beyond on a single ticket.
Azul customers traveling through Dubai to other destinations can also access more than XX cities on Emirates Airlines flights.
The number of Emirates Skywards members exceeds 30 million around the world. The loyalty program offers four membership tiers: Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, each with exclusive privileges including airport lounge access, flight upgrades, priority check-in and boarding, complimentary seat selection, extra baggage allowance, special offers (cash + miles), and complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi service.
Skywards, the loyalty program of Emirates and Flydubai airlines, is affiliated with hundreds of brands including airlines, hotels, financial institutions, retailers, and lifestyle partners.
Recently, the program launched Skywards Living, a comprehensive members-only store where they can learn how to earn and spend miles every day, everywhere. With over 3000 retail and lifestyle partners, car rental services, and access to nearly two million hotels through travel partners worldwide.
Skywards, Emirates’ program, has received more than 50 awards since its launch.
