Emirates announced its intention to operate a fifth weekly flight on the Dubai-Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires route, starting from December 7, 2024. The new weekly flight will provide increased capacity on Saturdays to serve the Argentine capital and meet the growing demand for travel on this route.
In addition, the service, which operates via Rio de Janeiro, will also provide customers in Argentina with more options for direct travel to and from Brazil.
Emirates will operate its fifth weekly flight between Brazil, Argentina, and Dubai, designated as EK 247/248, by using a Boeing 777-200LR split into two classes.
The Emirates flight “EK 247” departs from Dubai at 8:05 AM and arrives in Rio de Janeiro at 3:55 PM.
It then continues its journey to Buenos Aires at 5:30 PM and reaches its destination at 8:55 PM. As for the return flight, “EK 248” departs from the Argentine capital at 11:30 PM, arrives in Rio de Janeiro at 1:15 AM, and takes off from Rio de Janeiro to Dubai at 2:55 AM, reaching its destination at 12:30 AM the next day.
The new flight will provide 302 seats in both economy and business class, starting from December 7th. Additionally, customers can enjoy the spaciousness and privacy of the plane’s business class with a seat distribution of (2-2-2).
It is expected that the expansion of Emirates airline service to Brazil and Argentina will contribute to providing additional connecting flights for passengers between these two countries and other famous destinations through the extensive global network of the carrier, including the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Thailand, the Maldives, Egypt, the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Turkey, South Korea, India, Australia, and Indonesia.
As Brazil and Argentina are home to the largest Lebanese communities in South America, Emirates regularly transports traveling customers to and from Beirut.
In addition, citizens of Brazil and Argentina can easily enjoy traveling to Dubai without a visa, making it a preferred holiday destination and a convenient layover stop.
The main markets for tourism to Brazil and Argentina include the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The fifth weekly flight will also contribute to facilitating trade between Argentina, Brazil, and the rest of the world.
The wide-bodied Boeing 777-200LR aircraft can accommodate a cargo capacity of up to 20 tons per trip to transport exports from Argentina and Brazil to consumers in the Middle East, Europe, and other markets, with support for importing essential goods, including medicines.
