Enhancing agricultural cooperation and scientific research between Syria and Cuba

The development of bilateral relations between Syria and Cuba in all fields, especially agriculture, benefiting from the experiences of the two countries in the field of agricultural scientific research and animal health, and amending the signed memorandum of understanding, was the focus of the conversation of the minister of Agriculture, Engineer Mohammed Hassan Qatna, during his meeting today with the Ambassador Plenipotentiary and extraordinary of the Republic of Cuba to Syria, Luis Mariano Fernandez rodorigues.The minister of Agriculture stressed the strength of historical relations with the Republic of Cuba and the importance of strengthening them and benefiting from Cuban technical, scientific and technical agricultural experiences and exchanging experiences to rebuild the agricultural sector on advanced scientific bases after the difficulties suffered during the war, to benefit the peasants primarily and achieve development in the countryside, pointing out that Syria has great experience and successful experiences in the field of agricultural research and production of veterinary vaccines, where veterinary medicines are exported to 19 countries, stressing the ability of the peasant in Syria to continue production and find alternatives despite the blockade, sanctions and great pressures he was subjected to during the war years, stressing the ability of the peasant in Syria to it is important Providing all forms of support to help him increase his production in a way that achieves stability for him and contributes to food security.The minister pointed out the need to transform the memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries into an agreement that includes all possible aspects of cooperation, develop its items to suit the requirements of the next stage and develop an executive program, noting the readiness of technicians at the Ministry of Agriculture to hold meetings and scientific meetings online with their counterparts in Cuba to exchange ideas, visions and research, identify the terms of the agreement and future forms of cooperation, in addition to meetings with stakeholders in the two countries to improve trade exchange.The ambassador expressed his readiness to transfer all the ideas put forward to his country, coordinate meetings, and seek to sign the proposed agreement, pointing to the importance of agricultural production in Syria, its quality and diversity, and the ability of peasants to farm and give despite all circumstances, pointing to the importance of continuous communication between the two sides.
