China and Honduras announced the start of negotiations on a bilateral free trade agreement just three months after the two countries established diplomatic ties in March, which shows that bilateral practical cooperation is deepening.
The launch of the free trade agreement negotiations between China and Honduras helped deepen practical cooperation in the economic and trade fields between the two countries.
“It is hoped that the FTA negotiations will be completed within a year,” Melvin Redondo, Honduran Deputy Minister of Economic Development, said at the first high-level conference for the exchange of entrepreneurs between China and Honduras.
On June 12, prior to the FTA negotiations, China and Honduras signed a cooperation document on jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China.
