According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), North America maintains its position as the leading region in terms of financial performance.
IATA added that North America is the first market to return to profitability in 2022, which contributed to continuing to achieve profits this year through the availability of efficiencies, especially with regard to high passenger load factors.
IATA noted that consumer spending remains strong despite cost of living pressures.
She added that the demand for air travel in that region has maintained its strong growth, as forecasts indicate that it may exceed the growth rates in capacity until 2024.
Etihad noted that the expected net profit of airlines in North America will reach $14.4 billion in 2024.
He pointed out that the demand rates for 2024 (passenger revenue per kilometer) will increase by 6.3% over the current year, and by 8.1% compared to 2019.
