During a meeting with his Brazilian counterpart, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced Iran’s readiness to strengthen relations with Brazil in the bilateral framework and the BRICS group.
Tasnim international news agency reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
In this meeting, Amir Abdollahian thanked Brazil for supporting the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the BRICS group. Referring to the very good meeting between the presidents of Iran and Brazil in Johannesburg, he said that we are ready to develop relations between the two countries within the framework of bilateral relations and the BRICS framework.
Referring to the special place of Brazil in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the foreign minister said that this year we have entered the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and it is necessary to have special programs for this occasion.
Amir Abdollahian invited his Brazilian counterpart to visit Iran, which was welcomed by the Brazilian side and it was decided to plan the visit in a timely manner.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira also considered relations with Iran important for his country, and said that we are ready to strengthen relations between the two countries in the public and private sectors.
In this meeting, the two sides stressed the need to speed up the holding of the Joint Committee for economic cooperation between the two countries and support the cooperation of the private sector between the two countries.
