In a surprising, but important step in the field of technology and social communication, meta announced the start of the process of separating the possibility of “cross-application” correspondence between users of Instagram and Facebook Messenger.
This update means that users on “Instagram” will no longer be able to send messages to their contacts on “Facebook”, and vice versa, from mid-December 2023.
This step comes 3 years after the announcement of “meta”, which was then known as”Facebook” linking the Messenger experience to Instagram, in an effort to improve the messaging experience on the latter, and ensure that users get the best possible messaging experience regardless of the application used. But, now it seems that the company is backing away from this integration.
According to the latest updates posted on the support page of the “meta” website, the possibility of chatting between “Messenger” and”Instagram” will cease from mid-December 2023.
