The high-level talks brought together the speaker of the House of Representatives, Rashid Talbi Alami, and the ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Morocco, Felix Arturo shibuko kassida.
Alami received the Peruvian Ambassador on Tuesday at the headquarters of the House of Representatives in Rabat, where their discussions dealt with bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations.
This reception at the headquarters of the legislative institution of the kingdom comes just days after the Republic of Peru announced the suspension of diplomatic relations with the so-called” Sahrawi Republic”, a decision praised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, calling it wise and consistent with international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stressed that “Peru, faithful to the principles of international law that guide its foreign policy, renews its desire to continue its support, within the framework of the United Nations, for all efforts aimed at ensuring that the parties concerned on the Sahara issue reach a political solution that is just, lasting and acceptable to all”.
The decision to suspend relations with the fictitious entity opens new horizons for Peru in its bilateral cooperation with Morocco.
