New car sales in Mexico made a 22 percent jump until June, according to the latest data published by the Mexican Automobile Industry Association.
The Association’s data indicate that, during the first six months of the current year, 633 thousand and 87 new vehicles were sold, indicating an annual growth of 22 per cent compared with the same period last year.
The Industry Association explained that Japan’s Nissan Motors took the lead in terms of sales in the Mexican market, with a 19 rate of 100 new cars or approximately 22 thousand units.
The association attributed the Japanese company’s sales growth to its offer of economic and medium-sized cars to consumers, especially in view of the inflationary wave the country has known for nearly two years.
Last June, sales grew by 6.3 percent, with the largest share of both Nissan Motors, General Motors and Toyota.
On an annual basis, new car sales in Mexico grew by 25.7 percent, boosting the recovery trajectory after the COVID-19 crisis.
