Oil prices fell when transactions were settled, as fears of an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East diminished, after a truce was reached.
The global benchmark Brent crude price for January fell by 1.7% to USD 80.58 per barrel, and the WTI price for January fell 2% to USD 75.54 per barrel.
