The Brazilian company Petrobras’ president, John Paul Bratis, stated on his social media page on Thursday, February 15th, that he discussed with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” opportunities and projects in Brazil. Bratis was on a trip to the Gulf this week and shared several news about Arab companies’ activities with Petrobras in Brazil. In the above picture, Bratis is seen meeting with Masdar.
Among the news that has been published is the opening of a subsidiary company for the Kuwaiti Company for Foreign Petroleum Exploration (KUFPEC) in Brazil, as well as Petrobras’ request for Saudi oil company Aramco for a joint study of opportunities, and discussions with Mubadala for operational and institutional restructuring of the refinery purchased by the Emirati fund from Petrobras.
In a message on Thursday, the president of Petrobras said that he would conclude his agenda in the United Arab Emirates with a meeting at Masdar, the state-owned renewable energy company in the country.
He met with the CEO Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi and the director of offshore wind power stations Hussein Al Mire. Prates wrote, “We have decided to continue a joint study of opportunities and projects in Brazil.” A virtual meeting of the technical teams of both companies was also held.
Regarding the visit to the Saudi state-owned company Aramco, a global leader in oil and gas production, Pratis suggested to CEO Amin Nasser to study joint opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean. He wrote that the Arab company owns one of the largest refineries in the world in the Port Arthur in Texas, USA, which acquired a franchise from Petrobras in Chile.
According to Bratis, the concept of pooling efforts in a new vision for the resale and distribution market of fuel and oils has been explored, in contrast to the development of electric fleets and the increasing participation of gas and biofuels in transportation matrices, in addition to the increasing joint processing of vegetable oil in oil refineries. The President of Petropass explained that companies will establish an agenda of understanding and reciprocal visits until mid-March.
Bratis also visited Kuwait and met with the CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, as well as with the CEO of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), Mohammed Al-Hemar, and the CEO of Petrochemical Industries, Nadia Al-Hajji. Bratis wrote: “Soon we will witness good news regarding partnerships between these three companies and Petrobras, especially with the opening of a subsidiary of KUFPEC in Brazil.”
