The volume of trade in goods between the United States and the UAE increased by 10.5 percent at the end of the first nine months of this year, compared to the volume of trade at the end of the same period last year.
The volume of trade in goods between the two countries reached 22.9 billion dollars (84 billion dirhams) during the first nine months of 2023, compared to 20.7 billion dollars (76 billion dirhams) during the same period in 2022, according to the latest data issued by the US Department of Commerce.
According to the data, the UAE’s exports to America increased by 12.7 percent by the end of the first nine months of 2023, compared to the same period last year.
Exports recorded USD 5.09 billion (AED 18.7 billion) during the first nine months of this year, compared to USD 5.74 billion (AED 21 billion) during the same period in 2022.
The UAE’s imports from the United States also increased by 20 percent to USD 17.9 billion (AED 65.7 billion) during the period, compared to USD 14.97 billion (AED 54.9 billion) during the same period in 2022.
Last September, the UAE’s trade with America amounted to 2.5 billion dollars (9.1 billion dirhams) compared to 2.64 billion dollars (9.68 billion dirhams).
US exports to the UAE totaled USD 1.92 billion (AED 7.05 billion) in September, compared to USD 1.88 billion (AED 6.91 billion) in September 2022.
The volume of US imports from the UAE amounted to 609.5 million dollars (2.23 billion dirhams), compared to 758.5 million dollars (2.78 billion dirhams) last year.
Data released by the US Department of Commerce revealed that the total trade volume between the UAE and the United States grew to 17.82 billion dollars (65.45 billion dirhams) during the first seven months of this year, by 17.23 percent compared to 15.2 billion dollars (55.83 billion dirhams) during the same period last year.
