The levels of trade exchange between the UAE and Jordan have witnessed continuous growth, as the volume of non-oil trade exchange reached 16.5 billion dirhams (4.5 billion dollars) during 2022, with a growth of 47.4 percent compared to 2021, while the volume of UAE non-oil exports and re-exports reached about 14.7 billion dirhams (4 billion dollars) during 2022.
The Abu Dhabi Fund for development and the government of the kingdom of Jordan have a distinguished partnership, as the fund has contributed to financing many development projects in Jordan worth 6.5 billion dirhams, and included many vital sectors including: education, health, transport, energy, agriculture, irrigation, housing, infrastructure projects and other strategic projects.
The two countries are linked by distinguished economic and investment relations, as many economic, trade and investment agreements, memorandums of understanding and protocols have been signed, which have contributed to the consolidation of bilateral relations, a high volume of trade exchange, and an increase in the volume of investments in the two countries.
For its part, Abu Dhabi Ports Group and Aqaba development company signed in September 2021 an agreement for marine development projects in Aqaba, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which provides for the establishment of an advanced cruise ship terminal at Zayed Marina in Aqaba.
Last year witnessed the announcement of an integrated industrial partnership between the United Arab Emirates, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the kingdom of Bahrain, which embodies the keenness of the UAE to promote industrial integration with the Arab countries and the world, and will lead to enabling industrial development in the three countries and diversifying the economy and providing promising opportunities for future generations, as the partnership included the allocation of an investment fund managed by “holding” worth 10 billion dollars to invest in projects emanating from this partnership in the agreed sectors.
Since the beginning of the development process in the UAE, the Jordanian community of professionals working in various fields has had an active contribution to development projects, as more than 200 thousand of the Jordanian community reside in the UAE and live in perfect harmony within the social fabric of the country.
