The minister of industry and advanced technology of the UAE and the president of COP28, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, said on Saturday that the UAE has decided to contribute 100 million dollars to a World Bank methane fund aimed at helping reduce the burning and emissions of greenhouse gases.
During the conference, which kicked off in Dubai on Thursday and will last until December 12, the UAE announced several initiatives to finance climate action, including a huge investment fund worth 30 billion dollars.
In addition to contributing 100 million dollars to the loss and damage Fund, which the conference managed to activate during its first day.
