Data from the US Energy Information Administration released on Wednesday showed an increase in crude oil and gasoline inventories and a decline in diesel inventories during the past week ending on November 17 last.
The Energy Information Administration reported that over the past week, crude oil inventories increased by 8.7 million barrels to 448.1 million barrels.
Gasoline inventories in the United States increased by 750 thousand barrels to 223.5 million barrels, while diesel inventories decreased by 1.02 million barrels to 111.3 million barrels.
At the same time, the operating rate of oil refineries in the United States increased by 0.9 percentage points compared to the previous week to 87% of the operating capacity of refineries.
US imports of crude oil over the past week increased by 259 thousand barrels per day.
