The number of unemployment benefit claims in the U.S. decreased by 8,000 to 212,000 in the week ending February 10th, from the revised level of the previous week.
The previous week’s level was also revised upwards by 2,000 claims from 218,000 to 220,000.
The 4-week moving average was 218,500, an increase of 5,750 from the revised average of the previous week. Last week, the average was revised upward by 500 points from 212,250 to 212,750.
The insured unemployment rate averaged 1.3% for the week ending February 3rd, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point from the revised rate of the previous week.
The previous seasonally adjusted insured unemployment level during the week ending February 3rd was 1,895,000, an increase of 30,000 from the revised level of the previous week.
The previous week’s level was revised downward by 6,000 from 1,871,000 to 1,865,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,870,500, an increase of 22,250 from the revised average of the previous week.
The previous week’s average was revised downward by 1,500 from 1,849,750 to 1,848,250.
