WhatsApp, one of the most popular text chat apps in the world, has added a new way to help keep your most private conversations safer from prying eyes.
Therefore, the WhatsApp messaging application has introduced an improvement on the Chat Lock feature, which we launched last May, which allows users to hide any number of sensitive chats in a lock-protected folder at the top of the chat list, and can only be accessed by entering the passcode of the phone, or unlocking it using the fingerprint or Face ID function of iPhone phones.
Using the secret code of the chat lock feature, WhatsApp users can now create a secret password for important chats, instead of using the passcode, fingerprint, or face unlock that you also use to unlock the phone.
“With the PIN code, you will now be able to set a unique password that differs from the one you use to unlock your phone, and you will have the option to hide the locked chats folder from your chat list so that it can only be discovered by typing your PIN code into the search bar,”WhatsApp said in a post on its official blog.
“We are putting up a secret code to lock the chat on WhatsApp so that you can protect your conversations with a unique password, now you can set your locked conversations so that they appear only when you type the secret code in the search bar, so that no one can inadvertently discover your most private conversations,”Mark Zuckerberg said via his channel on WhatsApp.
